Robert Knight Remington (1826 - 1886) Having purchased the old Robeson estate on Columbia Street in 1869 for the sum of $10,000, he had the building dismantled and moved stone by stone to its present location on Rock Street. Mr. Remington and his family resided in the mansion until 1878, when the estate was sold to David Anthony Brayton, Sr.
