The Society's extensive collections contain artifacts relating to
the rich and varied history of the city of Fall River, with an emphasis
on nineteenth-century decorative arts. Artifacts are displayed in
period room settings, as well as in exhibits designed around specific
themes. Among these are: an exhibit detailing various practices
of mourning, which figured so prominently in the nineteenth-century
lifestyle; the "Old Fall River Line" of steamships; and
a rotating exhibit of clothing from the Society's extensive costume
collection.
